? The Volcani institute and Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel honor the memory of fallen Border Policewoman, Hadar Cohen, by naming a new type of strawberry in her name.

Prior to Memorial Day, the Cohen family was invited to the Volcani institute, where they ate the new strawberry together with Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel and Dr. Dai.

“We were excited to embrace the family and give them this gift, that’s our little part in preserving Hadar’s memory,” said Dr. Dai.

“Hadar’s favorite fruit was strawberries, and before she fell she was photographed with strawberries,” said Hadar’s mother, Sigal.

“The shape of the fruit reminds us of the shape of a heart, and it reminds us of the tremendous heart of Hadar.”

Hadar Cohen, 19, was a Border Police officer who succumbed to wounds suffered during a shooting and stabbing attack by three terrorists, near Jerusalem’s Old City Wednesday.  In her death she heroically saved another policewomen by pushing her out of the way and taking a bullet for her.
