Fans of comedy living in Israel are rejoicing after the announcement that American comedian Brian Regan will be headlining four shows in Israel this May as part of the Comedy for Koby tour.

Regan, 59, is known as the comedian’s comedian, has earned his fame with his offbeat observational comedy peppered with wild body language and facial contortions.

Jerry Seinfeld described Regan as one of his “favorite, favorite comedians” and invited him to be one of the first featured guests on his online series ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.’

Los Angeles-based comedian Avi Liberman, founded Comedy for Koby a decade ago and has managed to get comedians to come to Israel to benefit the Koby Mandell Foundation. Liberman called Regan “the definition of stand-up genius.”

“When comics I have brought in the past would sometimes be concerned as to what material they should do, I would actually use Brian’s name as an adjective. ‘Do your most Reganesk stuff’ and then they would all laugh and say, ‘OK, I get it’,” says Liberman “He is pretty much the best at what we do. No comic on earth would honestly say they are funnier than Brian.”

Regan’s shows in Israel will hit four cities beginning May 26th at the Herzliya Performing Arts Center followed by performances in Chevel Modiin (Airport City), Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Liberman will also perform along with opening act Joe Bolster.

The Koby Mandell Foundation serves the needs of victims of terror and tragedy and their families and is named for the 13 year old killed in 2001 in a terror attack alongside his friend Yosef Ishran.
