An additional body was found this afternoon in the area where searches in the Kinneret were underway for the body of missing Itamar Ohana, 19.

Although presumed to be Ohana’s body, a final verification is soon to be conducted. The body is the third that has been found since searches for three who went missing while rafting in the Kinneret on Wednesday.

Israel Police announced on Monday evening that they had located the bodies of 21 year old, Nahman Itah, and 17-year-old Liron Karadi

“A sonar-equipped ship belonging to the Israel Police succeeded in showing submarines where the bodies were located, and helping them bring the bodies to the shore for identification,” an Israel Police spokesman said. “The fact that the bodies were found in the suspected area shows that we carried out the search in a professional and efficient manner.”

Itah’s father said at the funeral that “Nahman saved another person in his final minutes of life and then died himself. He always helped and wanted to help. All of us, mother, me and your brothers forgive you and are not angry with you.”

Itah drowned after the sea mattress he was sitting on with his girlfriend was swept into the Kinneret and capsized. A passing jet ski saved his girlfriend but Itah himself drowned and his body was only found Monday.

Itah’s uncle, David, eulogized him, stating that “death came into the window like a thief. Where did this fall on us? I already buried a brother and a number of nephews. Pray G-d should stop this terrible decree.”

The three had been swept away by the strong winds at the Kinneret at the time.

Searches for the three continued on Shabbat and the final day of Passover, despite assessments that they had likely drowned to death.
