Special Initiative to Match Celebrations and Heighten Awareness

BERGENFIELD, NJ and JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - December 16th, 2003 - Bosmat Nechmad's family was changed forever when a Palestinian terrorist detonated a bomb at a relative's Bar Mitzvah they were attending in March of 2002. The explosion in the Beit Yisrael section of Jerusalem killed eight members of her family. Aside from the great emotional stress, the family's financial situation quickly became compromised. As a result, Bosmat's family realized that they would be unable to afford to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah. This was until a family from Chicago, celebrating their own daughter's 12th birthday milestone, decided to sponsor Bosmat's event in conjunction with their own. Their donation of $2,500 prevented a scarred little girl from missing her anticipated big day.

And so, the S.I.M.C.H.A. fund, a "Special Initiative to Match Celebrations and Heighten Awareness" was introduced today by two leading partner organizations, OnlySimchas.com and the OneFamily Fund. OnlySimchas.com is a popular website which enables Jews around the world to share photo galleries of their celebrations with friends and family via the Internet. OneFamily Fund is a unique Israeli charity that provides funds and human resources to over 1,800 families affected by Arab terror.

Money collected by The S.I.M.C.H.A fund will be earmarked to pay for the milestone celebrations of Israeli families that have fallen victim to recent acts of violence. "By posting digital galleries our users share their joy with the global Jewish community." Says Doron Katz, co-founder of OnlySimchas. "Today we invite our loyal fans to expand this model even further by enabling Israeli victims of terror to celebrate their own Simchas with joy and delight." Yehuda Poch of the OneFamily Fund adds, "OneFamily is proud to join with OnlySimchas.com in launching the Special Initiative to Match Celebrations and Heighten Awareness (S.I.M.C.H.A.) fund, to assist victims of terrorism in bringing a measure of happiness back into their lives. By sponsoring a Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Brit Milah, or wedding celebration, you are showing the victims and survivors that life can go on and that they can celebrate happy occasions. This will bring a measure of normalcy back into their lives."

ONLYSIMCHAS.COM, INC is the operator of the leading photo-sharing network in the Jewish community. Users post pictures of happy occasions, reserve a date for upcoming events, see related Simchas and post good wishes. Also popular is the service directory and classifieds section. Many new features are soon to be introduced. Over 6 million pages are viewed monthly on OnlySimchas.com.

ONEFAMILY FUND meets the immediate and long-term needs of victims of terrorism and their families. Drawing on the collective expertise of the founders and staff, and the generous support of contributors, One Family moves quickly to deliver relief to the victims, families, and communities affected by the continuing terrorist attacks in Israel.
